P. Prakash is a 2004-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Kerala cadre, currently serving as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).A pioneer in high-tech law enforcement, he has been instrumental in shaping the Kerala Police Cyberdome.
His career includes key leadership roles such as IGP Intelligence, Commissioner of Police for Thiruvananthapuram City, and DIG, South Zone. He is widely recognized for bridging the gap between traditional policing and modern technology through the use of data analytics and digital forensics in crime prevention.
